Let there be Peace on Earth

This holiday season I keep finding myself humming the old gospel hymn "Let there be Peace on Earth" as it seems more relevant than ever. I can't help but think of my sweet Nana sitting at her piano singing her favorite hymns, especially around the holidays.

Whether or not you grew up going to church and listening to hymns like I did, the message is an important one. "Let there be peace on earth and let it begin with me." As our world continues to deal with violent conflicts it is more important than ever to do our best to encourage and support peaceful resolution everywhere, including our communities. 

The mission of the Mosaic Project is an important one. They work toward a peaceful future by uniting children of diverse backgrounds, providing them with essential community building skills, and empowering them to become peacemakers. 

Their programs encourage youth leadership with immersive skill-building experiences such as specialized school programs, diversity-focused summer camps, after-school activities and workshop for teachers. These are small important steps towards big solutions. 

Each of these handmade charms are adorned with a hand painted gold luster peace sign. Keep one on your rearview window, embellish your gift wrapping, or keep it on display at your desk. Wherever you hang it, may it serve as a reminder that we must continue to work towards peace.
