Workshop Details

Part 1: September 7 – Ceramics Workshop with MaryMar Keenan
Join MMclay founder MaryMar Keenan for a hands-on ceramics workshop where you'll craft your own ceramic “canvas”—a flat, tile-like form that will be bisque-fired and ready for painting and hanging. This will serve as the foundation for your artwork in Part 2.

Part 2: September 14 – Painting + Plating with Felicia Forte & Chef Gavin Schmidt
Once your ceramic piece is fired and ready, return to the studio for a guided painting workshop with Felicia. Explore color and abstraction, using your own image or a template inspired by Felicia’s work to paint with acrylics directly onto your ceramic canvas (all levels welcome!)

Afterward, enjoy an exclusive food and colorful plating demonstration by Chef Gavin Schmidt of The Morris (James Beard–nominated) and newly opened Sirene including four seasonal dishes paired with wines. He’ll plate on MMclay wares and show you  how glaze and color interact with food to elevate the visual experience of a meal.

  • Part 1 – Sunday, September 7th, 3–5PM
  • Part 2 – Sunday, September 14th, 4–7PM
  • Location: MMclay Showroom + Studio, 69 Gough Street, San Francisco

(P.S. For inspiration, join us for a free art show at MMclay with Felicia Forte before the workshop—wine, small bites, and a chance to see her new work up close. Open to the public! September 4th from 6-9PM)
